Fire protection

Because your safety is important, you will need to complete a specific form detailing both the expected protection and its implementation.
The glass is supplied with a classification report to certify the fire resistance of the glass and its frame.

The EN 357 standard defines 3 classes of resistance:

  • 2 classes for "flame-resistant" glass

Class E - Integrity: Integrity protects effectively and economically against flames and smoke, but does not prevent heat transmission in case of fire.

Class EW - Integrity and Radiation: Integrity and radiation effectively protects against flames and smoke, and reduces heat transmission in case of fire.

  • Class 1 for "fire-resistant" glass

Class EI - Integrity and insulation: Integrity and insulation protects effectively and economically against flames and smoke, but does not prevent heat transmission in case of fire.

The class is associated with a resistance time (30 minutes - 60 minutes - 90 minutes - 120 minutes - 180 minutes) as well as a type of frame (wood, aluminum, steel).

The application is also important (e.g., fire door, fire-resistant partition…).
